Democritus
democritus pernah menerangkan prinsip-prinsip materialisme dengan mengatakan :
"Hanya Berdasarkan kebiasaan saja maka manis itu manis, panas itu panas, dingin itu dingin, warna itu warna. Artinya, objek penginderaan sering kita anggap nyata, padahal tidak demikian.
